What types of movie file extensions work best (mov, wmv, mpeg etc)? Is there a size limit to movies uploaded?

wmv's work well Sizes of 50 mb are stated here but rumor has it you can load up to 170 mb now . Hubby

I've tried to upload a Windows Movie file twice now and it says the file type is not supported. I'm going to try another browser (I'm using firefox). Any ideas?
