On a Wednesday afternoon I discovered a beautiful indulgence by accident. Looked it up and yes it is a thing.
What will they think of next?

The Flying Saucer in Fort Worth Texas has beer floats, I have never tried one.

depending on the beer and ice cream flavor it can be good or bad.
This year at the Mn State Fair one business had a beer soft serve cone made from Royal Raspberry Beer. Kiddo and I tried it, was ok but needed more raspberry flavor.
@shortkakes60, depending on the beer, I would try a beer infused ice cream before I would try the beer float.
A restaurant near us used to have these frozen Slurpee type Jack Daniels drinks and they were very good.
I think it's a great combination taste wise. But maybe I need a guardian in my 60's.

I had an Uncle that would eat a bowl of ice cream and drink a Schlitz beer.

"Had" being the operative word. 
How can you knock it before you try it Bonefang, it's an excellent lowbrow pairing.
I hadn't thought about the gout thing, that takes too much organ meat for it to hit me.
