It's too bad your wife won't go the bars. How about if you ask her to go out and play pool with her ? There are big pool places that happen to have bars, and if you go to a place that plays with paying via Quarters (as opposed to reserving a pool table), those are really interactive with other people.

Or just tell her you want to just play pool and maybe have a little bite to eat, and go to a bar with a pool table.
