Good Sunday Morning one and all. Welcome to Sunday FUNDAY Coffee.

Good morning all from our hill. Cloudy on the hill this morning, mid 50's and won't reach 70F today. Had plenty of rain, nearing 3 inches during the last 3 days.

I have trapped an Armadillo in my live trap. Not our local comedian, but a genuine one. Will relocate it about 7 or 8 miles away and release it. They dig up the yard badly. Don't like to shoot them as they do serve a purpose, just don't want them doing it in my yard.

Beyond that I am still head cook and nurse to Mrs Red who is recouping well from abdominal surgery.
Daughter is here for an overnight so we have enjoyed catching up a bit.

Damn, it's early to be up but when my eyes open, it's time to rise and shine. Hope everyone enjoys the day. Will be browsing later.

Good morning, Yall. Raining good here for the first time in quite some time. Will try to make it to church. Hope to waste the rest of the day. We have been burning the candle at both ends.

Dirtyred50 when I was a kid on the farm we hunted on. In the summer we would shoot the Woodchuck in the fields. Because the cows would sometimes step in the holes and break a leg. And the farm would give them to an older farmer down the road. Said they Tasted like Chicken all white meat. What do Armadillo tast like I wonder. I always believe if you kill it you eat it. I know you are Catch and release but i was just wondering. Someone must have eaten one at one time or another.

Jamaica, my favorite vacation place. Hope our friends and family are kept safe from this Hurricane that is unfolding. There is very little the islanders can do to escape the path as it isn't a large island and appears to be on a path to cross near the middle. God be with you.

As a kid that what we did worked the farm on weekends. Help with the milking Hay corn and manure. I wish my children could have been able to do it as well.

But the farmer passed in 1990 and he wife sold the family farm out from under he family. The farm belong to his Grandparents his dad then him no children he was only married for 3 years. She had a lawyer rewrite his will just before he pasted and he sign it 2 days before passing in the hospital. He was a good man that never had a life Navy Vet a truly good man

I still enjoy woodchuck hunting, spent many hours of my youth eradicating the varmints. Seems a lot of the little farms have been swallowed up by the big guys, not as many places available anymore.
Mrsbr says thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday.
Working around the house today, picking up things, that white shytt will be here before you know it.

Morning gang, thanks for the coffee 50 and the eye candy ladies. Glad the Mrs. is doing well 50. Armadillos, raccoons, ground hogs and other nuisance animals I relocate too, up in the woods after I put a bullet in them.
I've been up 3 times now, still pretty brisk in the house without heat. They are supposed to fix it tomorrow, I hope so we can finally thaw out. Just thankful it's not February when it went out, knock on wood. It's 52 and that's the high today and rain all day.

Good morning, finished my two cups and already had my shower for the day. It’s been a great weekend so far, got some much needed rain yesterday with a cool front, got tickets for the Spurs game today and I got dressed without falling down, life is good! Thanks for the pics ladies.

Forgot to add it looks like the government shutdown won’t affect VA disability checks, woohoo!

I hunted woodchuck a lot in my youth.

I would get in a prone position in the high grass surrounding a field that had recently had hay baled so the grass was pretty short.

I used a Dick Tracy plastic whistle that was very popular in those days to get their attention and make them stand up.

My .222 rifle with a 4X scope plunked them between the eyes. Rinse and repeat.

After a decent haul I would take them home and gut and clean them and cut them up.

My Ma would marinate them in a big bowl.The marinade was onions and vinegar to lessen the gamey taste she said.

Next day she used an egg wash and seasoned flour and fried the pieces in lard in cast iron skillets.

Tasted more like rabbit than chicken.

OK,,,coffee time is over. How about a beer?
