Rather than picking specific examples of where the UN falls down, which we all can do, perhaps we should start by trying to change the organisation from within. There are far too many populist politicians who want to go their own way, and getting support it must be said, rather than taking a more inclusive stance to the problems in the world. Organisations like the UN and sensible politicians need to make those changes, to avoid the divisive politics of the US, Hungary and other authoritan states getting a hold. Yes, things need to change but not in the way Trump, his administration and similar others want.

@4.25 fair point on sensible politicians, but there are more level headed ones. For my money we are all better and stronger together in trying to solve problems rather than seeking to be outside of the UN.

At a time when abortion has been made illegal in certain states, and people entering the US are having their phones checked for anti-Trump views. Your news media and the GOP running scared of Trump and his bullies....you seem to be in denial these type of things are happening. I could easily fill up a pages, by adding the activities of Putin´s mob, Netanyahu, Viktor Orbán, the Saudi royal family (plus those in opposition that are currently being found out...Nigel Farage, Geert Wilders to name a few). It´s the politics of division.
If UN funding is a problem for you, fight it and fight for reform on the inside rather than isolating yourselves. I may agree with you. But stronger together despite everything else.
