What pisses me off

All the talk about SNAP being stopped made me think about what gets my blood boiling.
When I am in a store buying groceries and I see a couple buying a cart full of food and they whip out a government card to pay for the food and these people are covered in tattoos. I always think that if they didn't waste all their money paying for tattoos they could afford food. I know tattoos are not cheap and some of these people have thousands of dollars of ink.

I’m right there w you Alan. Boing and gold teeth as well and it seems they can afford a much more expensive car than can I.

We have a food bank at the church across the highway and the number of (new) Cadillacs and Mercedes’ and Lincoln’s never ever seem to surprise me.

Finger you are also correct. I use to pass a food bank on my way to work. The number of Cadillacs and Lincolns with big chrome wheels lined up wating to get in was crazy.
I worked for a that repaired electric wheelchairs. I went to several Section 8 housing areas. The number of people in their late teens and early 20's that were hanging out in the parking lots not being productive members of society was unbelievable. There is no incentive for these people to work when they can game the system. The more kids they have the more money they get
I think everyone should have to work for their Snap money.Every town needs someone to pickup trash.

Our church helps with weekly community meal, serving 400-500. Most people walk, ride bikes or group in a beat up car or rusty truck.

Those in nicer cars tend to be picking up meals to deliver to those who cannot get out.

Just a different perspective.

Yep, churches and community groups are a much better way of helping people, without the fraud and abuse of programs like SNAP !

Today October 31, 2025, two federal judges ordered the Trump administration to fund the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) during the government shutdown by using emergency contingency funds.

SNAP targets those in greatest need. Among those participating in the program, most are children, elderly persons, or individuals with a disability. In fact, 86 percent of all SNAP benefits go to households that include a child, elderly person, or person with disabilities. In addition, about 92 percent of all SNAP benefits go to households with income at or below the federal poverty line.
SNAP recipients represent different races and/or ethnicities. White: about 37 percent; African American: 26 percent; Hispanic: 16 percent; Asian: 3 percent; and Native American: about 2 percent. (About 16 percent of participants are categorized as “race unknown.”)

When I was a child my mother raised my sister and myself. She worked in a grocery store, walked approximately 2 miles each way. We made due with what we had. We lived in project. They use to give cheese and powdered milk. We had to much pride to stand in line for “hand out”. We did with what we had, no hands outs for us. I think it made me a better person.

Tex, I never sad anything about more democrats or republicans receiving SNAP . I just find it hard to believe that there are now 42 million desperate people that need it after having a brain dead democratic president for 4 years ! Also, I have a problem with all of the people, mostly liberals, that support this program and see no problems with it, especially the items that people can buy with SNAP . Also, why are people on it 300 percent more likely to be obese ? PLEASE answer!!

In California democrats get the easy jobs as do minority. Affirmative action is reverse discrimination.
As for the give away, democrats live beyond means with expensive automobiles and homes and credit cards that they are always broke. They can't afford furniture or food. They appear to have money but have to much debts.

I never said there were more or less democrats or republicans receiving SNAP or other handouts . All I said was that it is the liberals that support those policies and see nothing wrong with taxpayers money being used to by soda and caviar !
