I m in market for new car. CAR ! A sedan , 4door with trunk no SUV
Pretty much choice Toyota or Honda Camry or Accord
Now, I am not sure if want hybrid, not completely ruling out though
Have heard of problems with the CVT transmissions, is that real common?
This will most likely be the last car I ever buy, so need to last !
I will not consider a Kia, and reluctant to Hyundai. Mercedes and such is out
Wish American manufacturers still made sedans, especially Buick, have had several those in past
What would you buy ?
will never ever own a foreign junk

If I was buying a sedan today I'd buy a Lexus IS. While virtually everyone has turned to turbocharged four cylinders the Lexus IS still has the proven Toyota V6 with a regular transmission.
Besides being luxurious with the latest tech, they have the legendary Lexus/Toyota reliability. Stay away from a CVT. They are not only more trouble prone but they make a car boring to drive.
The Lexus is not cheap but it's worth it!

You can’t hardly go wrong with a Toyota. If you take care of them (make sure regular maintenance is performed) they will run a long time

either Camry or Accord...cant go wrong... will easily get 250k miles out of...
had a camry with 225k accord with 240k crv with 250k.
no major issues... oil change , tire, brakes...
i go with the better deal.. usually what the dealer has on the internet as a special priced car

Nash Rambler
Trying to stay with a car OP. Have you seen where the Jeep was voted the best vehicle to have sex in commercial.
Can’t go wrong with the Camry. It’s one of the best that’s ever been built. You mentioned Kia and Hyundai. They are both the same company btw. Hyundai Kia Motor Corporation. They are also very good cars. As far as American made goes Toyota is the most American manufacturer there is. More of their parts are bought, made, and the US than any other brand.

I have over 20 automobiles. Your faith in Buick used to be good, not any more. Bad engines. After 16. Original Kia. Nice. New ones should be lemon law with gdi chit engine and just everything designed wrong. Kids have one. Newest car on property but also the worst. Doesn't matter Honda or Toyota. Both are good. 300 on each . However I don't drive them or the park avenue. Get a old gmc 4x4 truck and fix it up and you will be better off.

I don't get all the hate. for the CVT. I've had my 2014 Honda civic since brand new and it drives like a sports car. I shift from sport mode to drive all the time. I zip through rush hour traffic. It's not the flashiest or must luxurious but I just use it to commute to work. It's still great on gas and easy to park in parking deck at work. I've had no problems out of my civic. Good luck!

My 01 Chrysler isn't bad either. However my iroc or my vette isn't bad either.

We have a Subaru Legacy sedan and love it! Subaru has been known for their quality and customer loyalty. The four wheel drive is nice to have also. I have also owned both a Camry and an Accord, all three above mentioned you can’t go wrong with. Good luck in your choice
subaru known for head gaskets going to .
I will put my Chryslers up against any of those foreign junks and beat them hands down. Just retired a dodge with 500 K

4 wheel drive or awd subaru?. I have a legacy limited wagon awd. Awd is not by any means 4x4. But ya, fun car. However awd is not even close to my six 4x4 s.

Foreign cars are junk? Must be why every other car you pass is a Toyota or Honda.

I have 2 others with Chryslers and they are about bullet proof .
Look at the Chevy Malibu, yes they are stopping making them in 2025 but I'm sure they will come back and plenty around.
I've had them since 2005 and no problems, well outside of other people hitting me so had to get a new one.

I would be staying with Mopar. The Chargers or Chrysler 500. Pretty much the same car, but the Dodge is aimed more at performance and the 500 is more luxury.

If you want to buy American you should be able to get a deal.
They have a huge inventory problem right now. The 26’s are out and they have a six month supply of 25’s. If you don’t mind endless recalls and sitting in the service department.

Just retired a dodge with 500 K,,,,,,,, Wow U sound like a 17 yr old boy who hasen't even played stink finger yet. A dodge less trouble than a Toyota or Honda, spoken like a young boy looking for his first car......U Cool.......

My third Toyota, a 4Runner, just passed 229,000 miles with zero problems.
I'm not into electrics, but my son has a Rivian and I had to drive it to support one of his activities. The Rivian replaced a Tesla which I hated. I was impressed by the Rivian quite a bit, and was blown away by the fact that he's had it for several months, put two long distance trips on it and has yet to pay a penny for charging it. It seems that all the chargers are free.
I've never owned a sedan (B-O-R-I-N-G), but have owned several convertibles, including a Toyota which was also trouble free.
I'm not an expert, but my advice is to only buy a new vehicle, don't buy Korean or Chrysler, and be
meticulous in maintenance.
sud get a life I go by facts not fiction
Fuck every stinking foreign garbage on the street. I have proven and will keep proving it. I own a auto repair business and laugh at the stupidity as to what people put their money behind
jon I see you dont know much about machines

Thanks for all opinions and information. I am disappointed that American automakers, GM and Ford and their division no longer offer what I prefer. I would rather spend my money on American built , union assembled products. But I want what I want! And at today’s price level I I feel like I am not out of line expecting such
Toyota has a good number model that are assembled here, and ford gm have many Mexico assembled
I will probably go with Honda accord
Four of last five owned were Buick, one Impala. All were very good cars, put lot of miles on them, one Buick near 300,000 nothing but batteries and brakes
Immaturemale. The world has passed you by old man leaving you bitter and twisted and very very sad

If you can deal with the maintenance nightmare after warranty runs out European cars are more fun than American cars (except corvette). American cars are boring.
