I've always loved Springsteen's music. Springsteen himself? Not so much.

Only an idiot (see Springsteen, Bruce), would throw himself so deeply into politics, that he has no choice but to alienate half the country.

A genius (see Presley, Elvis Aaron) steers totally clear of politics and does not piss off 50% of his fan base and 50% of his potential fan base.

How these imbeciles (see de niro, robert) in the entertainment industry come to the seclusion that their opinion on politics matters, and that the public would have the slightest interest in hearing what they have to say, is a mystery.

Springsteen's movie? I read that it bombed big time. Doesn't really matter. I wouldn't cross the street to see this movie, even if I had free tickets. I am one of those many millions of people that he completely alienated.

My beef with him is the born in the USA bullshit. Running around in an Army jacket with a flag hanging out of his pocket exploiting Veterans when he was a draft dodger.

, the question was to anyone who had seen the film and then what they thought about the film.
So most of the responses her are from oxygen thieves who can’t understand the context of a simple question and respond accordingly.

If I were seeking a review of Springsteen I would have asked ..... what do you all think Of Springsteen.

Doh !

I did not see the film, but a friend went. He and his wife left during the movie. He said it was unwatchable and might be one of the worst movies he has seen.

I generally find his reviews pretty accurate for my taste.

I have seen the movie. It is a very dark, selfish movie about a period in his life just after "The River Tour" when he and his guitar tech Mike Batlan recorded what they thought were demo's but ended up being released as the album "Nebraska". Shortly after, he had a metal breakdown and entered therapy. It's basically a duet betwenn springsteen and Jon Landau.

This period is also recounted in his autobiography.

I knew Mike Batlan, he was a thin wirey guy. In the movie he is portrayed a a fat guy and Stevie Van Zandt is never mentioned.

I thought it was self indulgent and sucked. And I have been a fan since 1970 well before he released his first record.
Unless you wanna commit suicide !! LOL

Spurty, you really should understand the term, 'Irony'. It's a typically English term used in our understated humour. It's explained below.

Irony: - the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous effect. (as in my 7:12 post)

Very good rodders. Very good
Alanis Morissette I believe

By rodrey on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 - 12:58 pm:

That sort of thing (Raining on one's wedding day). That is more 'ironic' as in Alanis' song. Or, in engineering terms, 'Sod's Law'.

Agreed rodders
