What's your favorite Thanksgiving side dish

Mine is a cheesy green bean casserole.

Stuffing, especially the cook.

Tamales and egg rolls

They go well with the turkey and ham. lol

My own adults only cranberry sauce.

I have a few, stuffing of course but also my Mom's version of strawberry jello with cream cheese/whip cream topping, her rolls and an Aunts baked spaghetti cheese-think mac & cheese using thin spaghetti.
Mom and my Aunt are long gone but I still make the dishes in their memory.

Cornbread dressing

The cook did it all yesterday as it was a son's birthday as well. The cheesecake wasn't bad. The rest is usually the same. Cornbread was good. Lucky we have several jars of honey even though colder out usually slows down the bees aggression some. Good chocolate cake leftovers today. I never eat leftover but it looked good.

The 16 yr old in me, would have answered that question with 'hair pie', so the senior in me says hairpie.

Things seem to start to slip together.

So do you call it stuffing or dressing in your house?

Down here in Texas, for us anyway, it's cornbread dressing. My son in law is from up north so his wife brings a pan of stuffing. The dressing is the first to be gone. And we never forget the giblet gravy. Dessert? Pecan, pumpkin, and apple.

I agree with missmar, my mother made it that way and I follow her reciepe. I also make a pineapple stuffing which is a big hit.

Stuffing if cooked in the turkey, dressing if cooked separately!

Piping hot squash with pepper and melted butter on it, especially if it's a real cold day.

I too am going with the green bean casserole followed by the stuffing and turkey. I won’t be stuffing the turkey this year because I am smoking a turkey breast.
