We're in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas between Harlingen and McAllen Texas.

Fuel prices here range from $2.19 (CostCo/Sam's) to $2.31 at local convenience stores.

We buy 99% of our gas at Sam's Club. We get the additional 5% cash back by using our Sam's card.
Plus the Walton family really needs the $$$.

Last I filled up it was $2.85 here in CT. Our state charges an 8.1% tax on the wholesale sale of gas to the gas stations. The station owner is forced to pass onto the consumer. Then the state charges $0.25 cents per gallon at the pump. How the fuck is that legal? Double taxation on gas by the state of Connecticut!! Real nice!!!

Price without these taxes should be around $2.20. Fuck CT!!! This state is a democrat s h i t hole!!

By openme on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 8:20 am:

$2.44 in eastern Iowa by the Mississippi river

By caspertg on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 8:47 am:

S Texas and paid $2.26 a gallon yesterday but the price fluctuates constantly, on the positive side it hasn’t been over $3.00 for a long time.

By bigmansk on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 8:48 am:

2.78 in the Cleveland Ohio area

By texasgent73 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 8:53 am:

So the rise of inflation is measured on the price of gasoline, only? What is the price of groceries, lumber, health premiums, new cars, homes, rent, ect ect ect.
A 20 oz regular coke and a candy bar that was $4 last year is now $5.
Price gouging perhaps or making up for tariff tax or both.

Gasoline $2.19 to $2.49 here, depending where one stops in a 5 mile radius, around here.

By nny_couple on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 8:54 am:

$3.39 here in Northern NY

By texasgent73 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 8:56 am:

Sorry men, my apologies. The lower price of gasoline is something to be pleased about.

Mist. What I do in situations like that . Take a couple deep breaths And tell myself that it ALL goes to a good cause . I didn’t say it makes me feel better, but that’s what I do. :-). Oh, about $2.79 a gal here in W Kansas . But you have to watch. There is a lot of grades with ethanol, without ,

Paid $2.20 here in SE Texas a couple days ago.

By damnthatriver on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 9:05 am:

Anywhere from 52.30 to $2.99 in Northern Ky.

"We buy 99% of our gas at Sam's Club."

Just a heads up. Sam's sells poor quality gasoline. Most gas stations do. Very rough on your engine. I only buy gas at stations that sell top quality fuels. Keeps carbon buildup down. Look for a sticker that says "TOP TIER" on their gas pumps.

Surprisingly, Costco, which is always among the lowest priced gas around here, sells top tier gas.

By maturegumer on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 9:07 am:

North carolina $2.89
Wilkesboro NC.

By damnthatriver on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 9:09 am:

"Anywhere from 52.30 to $2.99 in Northern Ky."

That of course should say, Anywhere from $2.30 to $2.99 in Northern Ky.

By enjoyaunatural on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 9:11 am:

Around $2.58 in My area of Wisconsin.

Texasgent. Those prices skyrocketed under Biden. Reversing inflation is nearly impossible. Permanent damage in most situations. The economy is forced to react to what it is. Getting lower fuel prices does help offset the shipping costs of all goods which does help stop the prices from continuing to rise. So yes, there is huge focus on fuel prices. How much it takes to fuel our vehicles effects how many groceries or what type we buy to. I refuse to pay $7 for name brand chips. I bought the store brand for $2.99 instead. Bigger bag too.

Blowing up drug runners is good too! Can you imagine what the price of street drugs must be now? Definitely gonna be a deterrent.

$2.79 in Portsmouth NH last night

By mrsbr13102 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 9:35 am:

Central New York seems to be from $2.74 to $2.99
It's been there for a while, meanwhile Diesel is up 15 to 20 cents per gallon due to winter blending.

By armadillo55yep on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 9:54 am:

While lower gas prices are nice for the average Joe, Diesel prices are probably more important for having an impact on the cost of goods as most big trucks, etc use diesel. I've heard this has not come down as much but would be interested hearing from those in the know.

Still lower gas prices help those who drive every day. if you don't put many miles on the car, it's less important, but I do like not having to pay almost $20 to fill up a 3 gallon gas can for the mower/snow blower.

By dirtyred50 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 10:32 am:

DAMNTHATRIVER - My wife has CostCo card and buys fuel for her vehicle there. I have a 'beater' and if it would burn kerosene, I would buy that.

Good to know however.

By hounddogs64 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 10:57 am:

Pennsylvania Sam's 2.91 today. But Pa tax might be the highest in the country at .571 gas .741 diesel it is supposed to be for roads and bridges but we also have the worst in the country so I guess a lot pocket lining goes on. I remember a time when diesel was a lot cheaper then gas.

By almaden on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 11:04 am:

Arizona …hanging around $3,50 for premium. Unfortunately, we receive our gas from California, hence the price.

By shortkakes60 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 11:09 am:

Prices in my corner of the Twin Cities, MN- North/NW burbs are showing between $2.70-$3.10 regular unleaded, most are showing $2.90.

My usual gas station is at $2.90 but I seldom pay full price as it's connected with a grocery store that gives fuel savings points for up to 20 gal of gas. The points expire in 30 days of the time earned. Right now I have $1.21 savings point I have until the 18th to use and that will probably go up with my next grocery shopping trip.

There are a few times that I've had enough fuel saving points that I filled my tank (14 gal) and only had to pay the taxes-- around $0.10- $0.12 NICE!

By rachelusa24 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 11:19 am:

Filled up in Columbus, OH yesterday for 2.49. I don’t live there, just passing thru on I-70, but I was pleased at how low gas was in Ohio.

By rachelusa24 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 11:23 am:

And damnthatrive, yes 52.30 is a bit on the high side. Lol.

By plowguy on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 11:49 am:

Down here in Southern NJ. Were close to 4 bucks a gallon a year or so ago, down to 2.83 the other day, and still falling. But the communist leaders of NJ are going to raise it another 4.2 cents a gallon tax wise come January 1st. They raise it every year, claiming those funds are going towards road repairs, but you never see the roads getting done.

By eyewould69 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 12:44 pm:

just payed 4.89 gal you can find it a little less if you look around

guess what state I am in? lol
here is a clue..most of our petroleum goes in our governors hair.

By vinigrette on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 1:08 pm:

Plowguy I was just in NJ the roads were horrible potholes and ruts everywhere....

I think it's that stuff they spray on the roads before it snows. I think that does something to the asphalt....

By doctortits2 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 1:15 pm:

haven't been to a convenience store in years . Around here, they were all bought up by Middle East foreigners and heard profits are funneled to terrorist groups...
I recall fuel embargo in the 70s ...people panicked..I fear they will just shut down all the fuel pumps at these stores and cause panic and unrest.....but now I see well known USA companies opening new gas stations, that's good.
But we are not out of the woods yet...the fight has turned to taking over our local governments..
A discussion for another time...

By taurus64 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 1:21 pm:

In NJ I have noticed a decline the past few weeks. So much better seeing prices starting with a $2 instead of a $3.

While that's a plus it's killing me that we have the odor and pollution of so many refineries (that's the awful smell you get on the NJ Turnpike) but we don't have lower prices due to the shorter distribution to our stations.

Also, our dimwitted populace keeps voting Democrat. We used to have one of the lowest gas taxes in the Country but now it's one of highest and - GET THIS - to the surprise of no one they just announced that they are raising the gas tax even higher!

Our State Sales Tax rate is going up and the gas tax at the same time.

On top of that our Electric rates nearly doubled this year.

So NJ f u c k s their people every which way because they can. And yet every election Republican candidates get trounced.

By donorofboner on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 1:32 pm:

Any coincidence that price is higher in blue states? Duh!

By shortkakes60 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 1:54 pm:

One thing to remember, Between Thanksgiving and Christmas people are not traveling as much and the refineries have full switched to cold weather fuel.

Check back in a couple weeks as we get closer to Christmas and I'm betting the cost will go up until after the New Year.

FYI: gas prices are all about supply and demand. If all the refineries are producing --aka no shut down the cost is less. Have a refinery go off line and more demand, the cost goes up.

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 2:11 pm:

Lol..eyewould, well said. Central coast, 469 and happy anything under 5. Should go to seven in a couple months with two refineries closing with more regulations. I hear Arizona is upset because they get gas from California. Propane is going up next week. Good thing I ordered this week. That matters to us flyover deplorable you know. Fuck Newsom and democrats.

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 3:10 pm:

Kakes. In California its over regulations by democrats closing 2 major refineries making the shortage. Why would people vote for the democrats who destroyed everything?

By samandkim2020 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 4:08 pm:

@Texasgent, a coke and a candy bar?

First off, if you can't afford that junk, do not eat it, if you must have the junk, buy smarter, get a 6 or 12 pack at the store (Coke is on sale all the time everywhere) buy your candy on Amazon in bulk.

12 pack of coke on Amazon, 8 bucks, 67 cents each, 36ct full size Hershey bars on Amazon, 34 dollars, 95 cents each.

That is 1.62 for a coke and candy bar, stop using your EBT at QT or Buc-ee's :-)

You complain about MAGA not giving people like you free health insurance but you are buying coke and a candy bar, eat better bro.

At your age, coke and a candy bar will just make you more unhealthy.

And you are Hispanic, waste the cheat days on something better like Chile Rellenos, LOL

Funny how you want others to foot your health insurances but want to poison your body with junk like that.

I drink maybe 4 sodas a year. Candy, eat some at Halloween. Fried foods maybe once a month.

Its called being a responsible old fucker that wants to live a long time.

By samandkim2020 on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 4:16 pm:

North Texas, been paying around 2.23 a gallon for regular and 2.85 for premium, some of our vehicles require premium.

Seen regular as low as 2.10 in adjoining counties and southern Oklahoma.

Overall, our business expenses are stable, much more so than under the Biden inflation.

Bidens inflation was too unpredictable, a tariff is a one time rise in the wholesale cost, an expenditure that we can budget and plan for.

Gas impacts our business but not as much as hotel and rental car taxes in the markets we do business in.

We have stopped doing business in California all together, our clients there would gladly pay more but Cali is so unfriendly to those that are not based in their state, we just go elsewhere, more business than we can get to anyways.

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 4:19 pm:

Who supports coke? Nasty stuff. Reeses I can understand. Stop drinking soda. Drink Ireland water instead. Much better.
Tex,, haven't said hi in awhile, hope going OK. Sam, good advice, Guinness is much better.

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 4:35 pm:

I spend about 50 to 100 per day on gas depending what I drive of the fleet. I wish California wasn't a Communist un-American unconstitutional democrat state.

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 4:40 pm:

New laws, no tree forts, no fireplace or pits,no chickens or livestock, no trampoline, no swimming pools or hot tub, no loud music...suppose my cartel neighbors will have to turn it down.

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 4:46 pm:

A fence has to not connect to a building, must clear 5 foot from building, no plants. I have to gravel around the house. Luckily my fence doesn't touch the house. However democrats take the money but didn't mow the roads and giant fires happened. Last one was 230,000 aces, no problem. The county yard has a dilapidated building boarded up and not mowed. No problem. Has dead fallen trees against building, no problem..lol

By mistified on Saturday, December 6, 2025 - 5:21 pm:

Easier to just out law democrats than to keep up with the rest of this chit.

By texasgent73 on Sunday, December 7, 2025 - 12:58 am:

SAMandkim, what the HELL is your problem. Why the chit do you always make false assumptions about me?
No one pays for my health insurance! I don't cry for freebies. Just because I quoted the price of a soda and candy bar from one year to the next, YOU feel a need to lecture me on a self indulgence. Why the hell would I buy a six pack when I seldom drink cokes.
You always talk of Hispanics in a negative context. This is the very reason I call you "Tio Thomas!" You are the Mexican version of an uncle Tom!
Buenas noches Payaso!

By mistified on Sunday, December 7, 2025 - 2:50 am:

Hey tex,,,no hypocrisy or judgment here..just got back from town. Bought 2 12 packs and 2 six packs .the 2six packs of beer I am giving away. The 2 12 packs are cherry soda. One Dr pepper cherry and one 7up cherry, trying a new drink. 2 shots crown royal chocolate, a shot of cherry grenadine, one maraschino cherry and cherry soda. Suppose to taste like chocolate covered cherries. We will see. Had a double, double burger at in and out urge, that's burger without the b or r. With a sprite on the way home. Have a great day amego....your gringo friend.
