WIFI Extenders

Anybody have one? Do they work? I have a gateway type modem/router and it's pretty good here at the house but it's sketchy up at the shop which is about 100' or so from the house. It works sort of hit and miss up there.

Your modem or rent? Xfinity has Wi-Fi extenders compatible with their modem.
I bought one from Amazon and could never get it to work.

I bought a wifi extender from US Cellular and it works. I would say it extende my net work by 50-100’ which works for me.

Asking for 'Extenders' in here is going to get some off-message responses!

I read it as wife extenders... oops!

What you need is an access point with extenders. They plug into your wifi just like a computer. You do have to configure them to work.
Orbi is one such brand.

TP Link makes some good ones. You can buy them at best buy or Amazon. If you have fiberoptic make sure it says wifi 6 or it will not work. I would have a clerk help me pick the right one if you are not familiar.

Before you buy an extender look into what is called a " point to point wireless bridge" kit.
My guy says this the way to go if you want a strong signal at 100 feet or more...

Point to Point wireless bridge. Next best way would be a buried Ethernet cable to an out building

I appreciate everyone's input and sorry for not being able to participate in the conversation. I got called away to Christmas shopping and then dinner at a steakhouse. They had a new beer. It's forgettable. In fact, I forget the name. The wireless bridge sounds intriguing.

Eero. They're expensive but they work great. I have 4 of them in my house and everything is covered and works great.
