I always wanted to post and share these - but they were lost during a move. Found them this summer - but we were traveling on the 7th.

In any case - here's to the memory of those heroes we lost on December 7th,1941 - and for the rest of that War.

Better late than never Frank, my father enlisted and joined at 18 in 1944 and all my uncles of age served. They all came home, but they were a quiet bunch. It sure left a mark.

i visited that memorial. no photos, no loud conversation. very quiet.
just look over the rail and see the oil slick. even after all these years, its always there.
knowing there are people still entombed on the sunken ship gave me an eerie feeling. one of respect and reverence.
after seeing my last name on the list of those killed on the USS Arizona, i did a geneology search.
turns out this man was a not too distant relative who lived in kentucky.
its a small world.
all in all, it was a memorial that touches the soul of those who go there. i will never forget it.

I've visited the memorial twice.
Very touching display/museum.

Word of advice. Don't take a tour. You are rushed. Do it on your own time.

You guys are more than welcome ! If some of you are history buffs, as in the History Channel / Discovery Channel - you all might remember Park Ranger / Historian / Pearl Harbor expert Dan Martinez ....

We were lucky enough to catch him there when he was doing some video segments - he posed for a photo with us - and we spoke for a few minutes as he pointed out a few key things to make sure we didn't miss !

And one more - from the bow of the Mighty Mo !!!
