-39 C this morning here.
That’s -38.2 F
words of wisdom from someone who's lived in the northland all my life:
If you don't have to be out, stay home safe and warm.
Be sure to keep all inside doors open a bit and let the water trickle in the sinks/bathtubs.
Also if you are getting a lot of snow, check the house vents outside to make sure they don't get buried or iced up.
At least the bitter cold is easing in my area of Mn, only suppose to get to -12(without windchill) tonight. It's -8 now.

We don't get them regularly, but we do get them. Fortunately, they only stick around for a few days. Bundle up in layers if you have to go out. Don't go out unless you have to. It will all be over in a few days.

Where is this thermal warming I hear about? Where is Al Gore in all this frozen mess?
The ice we get is the worst, snow would be much better but we do not get much snow here in Texas.

We are stuck in Chicago for a few days.

himandher - That sucks. It is really cold there! My first ever trip to Chicago was in mid-January. It was awfully cold to a lifelong Georgia boy.
That snow storm we had last January was fun. After a day of it, everyone got sick of it. Even our young granddaughters. I don't see how you people up north deal with it. I guess you can say the same thing about our heat and humidity. I like cold, just not all the crap that can come with it. The last two days people around here were going nuts. Hoarding everything and depleting the stores. They act like this is going to last for weeks. Thank you news media you worthless pieces of sh&t!
@himandher. At least you're stuck with her.

Heading to Florida one week late. 10 inches so far here, not in my pants but on the ground with more to come.

25 degrees in S Texas and we have ice cycles so probably ice on the overpasses. I planned for it so no need to go anywhere today but if I have to the sun should have everything melted be late morning. Good thing is we didn’t lose power and CPS didn’t do rolling blackouts like in the past.

Cooled down some, but 70 or so in California. There is snow on the mountains.
Can't afford the Cal. taxes!
