Designer Nail's

Some ladies have very well done up designer nail polish jobs and sometimes they have one or a few with a fancy little pieces of art on them. I often wondered if these are meant to catch attention, a conversation starter, etc.?? When wife and I were younger and I still had a bit of jealousy in me (I am over that now thankfully), she started having hers done up this way and when confronted she quickly reacted to denying. However, after the questioning only once or twice she never did it again. Very possible she was worried that I was thinking things that were not true or she was actually using it for attention. IDK - but I see from time to time these ladies and just wonder??
