Happy last Saturday of January Folks! A nice day in the Twin Cities area, temp +12, feels like +13 with the wind, sunny skies. A little heat wave after days of -zero temps/windchill.
For those in the South/East getting the cold, ice and snow I feel for you. Keep a trickle of water running in all faucets, be careful with any heaters, stay in unless you absolutely have to go out and stay warm. At least your winter will be over in a few days. Up here it started in Nov and will hopefully be done sometime in April.

Kiddo and I went grocery shopping midday, store was busy but well stocked. Came home, put the groceries away and now I'm watching silly Hallmark movies.

Supper is to be homemade mushroom and swiss burgers, fries and ice cream for dessert.
Kiddo may come over but hasn't decided yet.

What's on your supper table tonight?

Please remember this is a fun thread. Talk about your meal and day/weather. Keep all the other stuff for other threads. Thanks:-)

Hi Kakes,

Tonight, we are celebrating my middle one’s 35th birthday. We have spent most of the day playing pond hockey. His choice for dinner was nachos, tacos, and burritos. It will be followed up with cake and ice cream.

It’s been great having all the kids and grandkids here for the day. Days like these don’t happen as often I would like…but I sure enjoy it when they do.

Evening kakes, little cool here but we did make it up to 22 and sunny. I'm anxious for Spring but I always am this time of year. That foot of snow we got a week ago is pretty much all still around.
Supper is tacos with corn chips and queso to go with them.
Stay warm up there and have a great week.

The day of pond hockey with family is a perfect birthday for your middle one. Happy Birthday to them. Kiddo is just a couple months younger.

mrscountrygirl, the tacos with corn chips and queso sounds great:-)
Glad it's getting warmer for you, hopefully the snow will start melting soon. Have a great week too.

Hello Kakes, it's been a breezy cold day down here. We did lots of household chores that don't get done when the weather is nice. Tonight if any wife approves its drinks on the dock to see if there is a sunset followed by a grilled steak with a shallot red wine reduction baked sweet potato fries and green bean almandine. I can't imagine anyone went by boat to the Gasparilla parade, too cold and too windy. Hope you all stay safe and warm.

The cold has gripped a lot of the US.

Those temps for you are bitter cold. A good time to cozy up with your loved one under a few layers of blankets. Stay safe and warm.

Hey Kakes,

Temps here were in the teens today. I've been able to get out and about everyday since last Tuesday, even with 10.5 inches of snow and the cold temps.

Wife made chicken pot pie in a pie shell for dinner last night. Tonight we had the left over chicken pot pie.

It's in the mid teens, going down to 0 again in PA. Our snow from last weekend is keeping it cold. Since it is cold it is perfect for ham and lentil soup and warm rolls

That's a lot of snow! Glad you were able to get out and about. I have about 3-4" on the ground, just enough to cover the grass..not enough for us.

bangher, the ham and lentil soup with hot rolls does sound perfect for a cold day:-)
Hopefully you warm up soon
