Android problems

Had a mandatory Android update this past week. When I went back online it told me I needed to download adobe flash to view movies. Not a problem as I had dowloaded adobe flash prior to update and it worked fine. After I downloaded this time, the whole browser would lock up if I tried to view a movie. Verizon said that the updated version of android will not support adobe flash. They said that all web site videos have go be on another format in a few months so in their update they decided to forget adobe altogether since it would soon be obselete. If anyone has another answer for this problem I sure would appreciate it.
