I know of three spots. Esch Rd. beach west of Traverse City on Lake Michigan just 4-5 miles south of Empire. North along the shore about a mile is a nudist section and south in the dunes/woods for a gay section. There is a boat landing about 5 miles north of Charlevoix on US 31, not the roadside rest stop. North of Cross Village in Wilderness State Park about a mile along the shore where the road goes inland from the beach.
