Collins Beach on Sauvie Island

Collins Beach is a legal, clothing optional river beach area on Sauvie Island. It is on the river northwest of downtown Portland, about 30 to 45 minutes away. Very nice beach, most people are nude. In summer months there is usually a volleyball game going on weekends near entrance 2.
Wife and I went to Collins Beach while we were in Portland (Aug 2012) and really enjoyed it.
It's easy to find, just don't forget to stop at the general store and get your day pass then leave on your dash. Once you get your pass you drive out to the beach, and it's waaaay out there. You gotta drive past the regular beach first, once you leave the black top and are on the gravel road your by the nude section.
We went on a monday and there was allot of people there, so I can only imagine what a weekend is like. It was a really good mix of people too, couples, singles, and groups, youngest adults looked to be in their late 20's, a lot of late 30's thru early 50's, some really older folks too...lol, and a little distubing to us but there was a couple kids (5-11'ish) running around nude too but just a couple.
We layed out nude for about 4 hours, played in the water (the bottom is so soft and you can go along ways out into it, we layed right on the edge of the water for awhile, and we walked the length of beach nude. We felt very comfortable & secure the whole time. spent about 6 hrs there total.
It's a very long beach with like 6 paths to walk down, I reccomend using the first 3 entrances. There are porta-johns in the parking area but I recommend the ladies go before coming to the beach.
Was a great experience, wish we had such a place on the East Coast.
